This course is intended for people that have attended our beginner beekeeping course and/or have some beekeeping experience (1+ years). The goal of the course is to equip beekeepers for success in the years following their initial foray into beekeeping.
This is an interactive course, covering the following topics:
- Advanced Colony Management
- Swarm Prevention
- Diseases and Pests
- Splitting hives, making nucs and queen introduction
- Q&A (to the best of our beekeeper's ability)
This course will be hands-on, and rain or shine. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring your own protective gear if you have it (a beekeeper's veil will be sufficient) as we will be working with live bees! If you need equipment, we do have a few sets that we can lend you, just let us know in advance to reserve your set. We also have equipment for sale that you can purchase the day of the course.
